To do this, follow these steps: 1) Log into your DNS provider (like GoDaddy) and create a CNAME record for mixpanel-us-west-1 that points to your custom domain name (e.g., mycustomdomainname). 2) Update the settings on your MixPanel account so that data is sent to this new CNAME record instead of our default US West 1 address (https://mixpanel-us-west-1). 3) On your DNS provider’s website, create an A record for mycustomdomainname that points to our default US West 1 address (https://mixpanel-us-west-1). 4) Update the settings on your DNS provider’s website so that when someone requests mixpaneldata from mixpanel – us – west – 1 , their request will be sent through our custom CNAME record and then routed to our default US West 1 address (https://mixpanel-us_west_1). 5) On your DNS provider’s website, create an MX record for mycustomdomainname that points to mail . example . com . 6) Update the settings on your DNS provider’s website so that when someone sends email from mycustomdomainname , it will be sent through our mail server at mail . example . com . 7) On your DNS provider’s website, create a TXT record for mycustomdomainname that points to v=spf1 include : _spf._localdomain ?all If you’re using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), follow these steps instead: 1) Create a project in GCP and set its environment variable MIXPANEL_WEBHOOKS_URL=http://{YOUR GOOGLE CLOUD PROJECT NAME}.cloudfront.* 2) Update the settings on your MixPanel account so that data is sent to this new GCP project instead of our default US West 1 address (https://mixpanel-us_west_1). 3) On Google Cloud Platform’s Console page, create an HTTP load balancer with port 8080 and set its forwarding rule so it forwards requests from https://{YOUR GOOGLE CLOUD PROJECT NAME}.cloudfront.* -> https://myloadbalancerip : 8080 4) Update the settings on Google Cloud Platform’s Console page so that when someone requests mixpaneldata from mixpanel – us – west – 1 , their request will be sent through our load balancer and then routed to our default US West 1 address (https://myloadbalancerip : 8080). 5) On Google Cloud Platform’s Console page, create an HTTP proxy with port 8082 and set its forwarding rule so it forwards requests from https://{YOUR GOOGLE CLOUD PROJECT NAME}.cloudfront.* -> https://myproxyip : 8082
