How to use Pingdom Test Server
To use Pingdom Test Server, you first need to create an account. Once you have an account, you can log in and start using the service.
How to set up
1. Go to Pingdom’s website and sign in.
2. Click on the “Create a new Server” button on the left side of the screen.
3. Enter a name for your server in the “Server Name” field and click on the “Create Server” button.
4. On the next page, you will be asked to select a location for your server. You can choose any location that you want, but we recommend choosing a location that is close to your users so that you can monitor their activity more easily. Click on the “Select Location” button and then click on the “Next” button.
5. On the next page, you will be asked to enter your server’s information. In the “Description” field, you can describe your server and in the “IP Address” field, you will need to enter your server’s IP address. You can also enter your server’s port number if you want (we recommend using 8080), and then click on the “Next” button.
6. On the next page, you will be asked to create a user account for your server. You can either create a new user account or use an existing Pingdom account (if you have one). If you choose to create a new user account, enter your username and password in the appropriate fields and click on the “Create User Account” button. If you use an existing Pingdom account, just click on the “Use Existing Account” link and enter your username and password in the appropriate fields. Click on the “Next” button after entering all of your information.
7. On the final page of this process, you will be asked to configure settings for your server. In particular, you will need to decide which tests should be run from this server and which tests should be run from other servers that are connected to it (known as remote servers). We recommend setting up two remote servers: one for testing web pages (using Web Page Test) and one for testing Ajax requests (using Ajax Test). To set up these remote servers, click on each of these links: Web Page Test – This link will take you to a page where you can add test pages that should be run from this server; Ajax Test – This link will take you to a page where you can add test requests that should be run from this server; both of these pages have instructions that explain how to add test pages or test requests thereto). After clicking on each of these links, just fill out all of the required fields (including any additional information that is required) and then click onthe “Add Remote Server”button atthe bottom of eachpageandthenclickonthe“Finish”buttonatthebottomofthepage(youmayneedtoconfigureyourbrowsertotogglebetweenpages).
